Spotlight Offers Something for Everyone

Greg Flemming - Stephen Decatur Award Recipient The 14th Annual Spotlight on Decatur comes to Bellmont Middle School on Saturday March 13h. Doors open at 8:00 a.m. and activities conclude at 6:00 p.m. Many events are returning and several new events have been added for 2010.

This free event truly offers something for everyone. The exhibits and dining room open at 8:00 a.m. with breakfast served by Manley Meats.

WZBD Free Bingo returns on the main stage at 9:00 a.m. WZBD personalities call bingo and distribute prizes to participants.

Each hour, beginning at one, a drawing will be held for $100 in cash. To be entered in the free drawing you must have your card stamped at the five sponsor booths. You must be present to win.

The North Adams Art Council Art Show takes place all day in the auxiliary gym. The show sponsored by the Decatur Rotary Club highlights the work of local adult and student artists.

Stage Entertainment begins at 1:00 p.m. with many outstanding local groups participating

At 11:00 a.m. many great items will be up for bid in the Rotary Community Auction on the main stage. Auction items include: new merchandise from local merchants, autographed and collectable items and much more. All funds raised at the auction go to support Decatur Rotary projects in the community. Auction items may be viewed beginning at 9:00 a.m.

Spotlight will conclude with the drawing of the $1,000 cash prize. Tickets for the drawing may be purchased at the Chamber of Commerce office or at the Chamber booth at Spotlight.
