Since 1976, Formula has been 100% owned and managed by The Porter Family, focused on continual product improvement throughout the line, from the smallest Bowrider to the superlative 45 Yacht. At the nearly 600,000 square foot facility in Decatur, Indiana, a dedicated team of employees do their best every day, combining premium materials with detailed fit and finish to achieve the extraordinary standard of quality required in a Formula.

As lifelong boaters, the Porters realize the importance of uncompromising quality in every detail, along with responsive, customer-oriented service. Chairman Vic Porter began manufacturing powerboats in Decatur in 1958 as Duo, then Signa Boats, followed by Thunderbird and Formula. He continues to live his philosophy and spread it throughout the family business, “to be successful in business and generous in worthwhile programs that build people up to their fullest potential so they too will be successful, generous and serve their community.”
