Pondering by the Riverside

Wes Kuntzman, Executive Director, Decatur Chamber of CommerceOne of the biggest events to come to Decatur happens on Saturday March 14th. Spotlight on Decatur is now in it 13th year. Spotlight brings thousands of people to Bellmont Middle School and exposes them to your products and services. Each year a dedicated committee prepares for Spotlight. This year the committee is Travis Alexander (Ryan Consulting), chairman; Al Converset (WZBD Radio), Bard Martz (Edward Jones), Ron Storey (Decatur Daily Democrat), and Rick Richardson (Walgreen’s). This group spends many months planning and organizing a great event that has something for everyone.

We also appreciate the support of North Adams Community Schools in the assistance they provide to Spotlight. Executive assistant Linda Morris also spends many hours working behind the scenes to make Spotlight a success. This is truly a great production!

Since the very first Spotlight the day has opened with WZBD Bingo. This event always draws a large crowd and everyone has a lot of fun. This is the second year for the Decatur Rotary Community Auction. Rotary will have lots of items to auction off for to raise money for projects that benefit our community.

Also returning this year is the North Adams Arts Council art show. This event showcases the work of area high school students and adults.

Come out to Spotlight and enjoy the day. There is something for all ages!
